As you can see from the image above, Marketing Needs Data.
It’s one of the core reasons why I call my company Marketing Is Not Selling.
Selling uses tools designed by Marketing.
Selling gets the customers to buy.
Marketing talks to the customers to find the needs.
Marketing processes data from social media, websites, analytics and more to determine if a venture is profitable.
Marketing gets to know your customers.
But your marketing department and plan won’t work unless you have data to back it up.
And with all the new GDPR rules regarding data, it can be scary and uncertain. But there’s one thing that you can do that will always work, even when other tricks and tactics no longer work.
Talk to your customers.
Take the time to get to know them. Show them that you care about them – not the number they represent.
When you do, that’s when you’ll find the wording for your next sales page.
Or discover that new product/service.
Or realize you have a gift/passion for something complimentary to what you already offer.
It’s not hard. It’s not scary. It’s a conversation.
You wouldn’t drive with your eyes closed, would you? Of course not.
So why are you driving your marketing without talking to your customers?
