Today is Memorial Day.
While most people are out celebrating with their friends and family over barbecues and beers, be sure to take a moment and remember all of those that helped create the freedoms that you enjoy.
Without them, you wouldn’t be able to enjoy those barbecues & beers.
Without them, you wouldn’t have a say in running our government.
Without them, your kids might not have access to education.
Without them, you couldn’t own a gun, or protest against them.
Without them, might have been subjected to a Monarchy, Communism or Dictator.
Without them, you wouldn’t be able to speak freely.
While Memorial Day was originally established as a Civil War Fallen Soldier Remembrance Day, I for one am glad that it now includes ALL fallen soldiers of these United States, going all the way back to the Revolution.
It’s important to remember the past. To see where we have been. So we know how to move forward.
Keep history alive. Keep the discussion going. And keep our fallen soldiers in your thoughts, your prayers, your work and your protests.
Because without them, we wouldn’t have America.
